Who Knew?

Who knew one of my creations would be so useful
to one car lining up kid!!

Who loves this book??
This was one of my all time favorite books a little girl...the boys love it too..
even Sammy bear is getting the hang of the word/picture association...and the rhythm
of the pages..

Who Knew???
I could take so many pictures...

Look at those eyelashes..

Who Knew??
Are you talkin' to me??

Who knew...
...i would love to quilt??
...i would be so determined in completing things i don't even know how to do?
...that not knowing is part of the thrill...and the reward??
...i would survive the holidays..or for that matter, that my family would survive...
i launched a full on crazy month of December...AGAIN.... and who knew...i would FINALLY come to my senses...we've got plans this year people...
our family will enjoy the ENTIRE month leading up to Christmas this year...
we will drive around looking at lights...we will go to friend's houses, prepared with handmade/homemade gifts...we will use our dining room table for eating...and only have "picnics" out of desire and not neccessity...
This was my third quilt. I made a little one for my sweet friend Sullivan...
Then the one on my Autism Blooms header (go see...a new post everyday this week!! i promise..i already did them...seriously...who knew??)
and this was my last one..
actually, this was the first one i started, but i measured wrong...cut really wrong...and had to practice on something else...the red polka dottie fabric was my fix for mis-measuring...
who knew it would make a great road ?!!
I have a couple other quilt "tops" i have started already, but Sweet crazy Christmas pushed those to the side.. i have really gotten the hang of my machine though...she hums so beautifully..
so reminiscent of my own childhood...and watching as my mom sewed to her heart's content..
it seems to me that my longing to create is something so strong, i cannot deny it..
i have dabbled in so many mediums...paper, stamps, scrapbooking, painting, jewelry making, sewing....ahhh...sewing.....i still love making something out of "nothing" most..giving something an extended life..a rescuing of sorts...THAT is my favorite!!!
wait til you see my latest rescue....
Happy day!
Have a Love-fully!

I LOVE it! It's beautiful. I love the red! It doesn't surprise me that it works so well for a car track. The boys look so much older with their short cuts. So handsome! The cover came off of our People's House book this week and I thought about Sammy- our kids have loved it but it was even more a favorite for him. Sullivan talks about you almost everyday (just YESTERDAY about your quilt!) because there are so many memory triggers of you around her room and our house! And doesn't my quilted pretty towel count? I can't wait to see your new ones as you continue the process of making them. YAY! I love that you are posting. :o) You make me smile.

Your quilt is AMAZING! {jealous}... I love that your boys are "using" the quilt as a road... Mine would do the same thing, often times I find Lego men, Star Wars guys, and cars in the most unexpected places of my decor! Gotta LOVE a house FULL of boys!

That quilt is sheer JOY! It is lovely to look at (outstanding!) and cuddle under (I am sure) and look at the "traffic" (what Katie calls it when she does the same thing!)! How fun!:) Lori
